Kev, Mary & "The Lil"

I can't believe that the spring is here. Kevin has started one of his finals and we are so close to making it though the first year of Law School. Kevin is learning so much. He actually really enjoys the things that he is learning. I think that this is a very good thing!!!! He works so hard but still finds time to play with Lily and do a little yard work. I think that he wishes that he could do more. Kevin is the best a giving "The Lil" (Lily) her bath and she has so much fun with him during bath time. We are still not sure what type of internship Kevin will be doing for the summer or if he will be taking some classes.










Mary has a new calling as the Mia Maid teacher in the ward. We are both still ward missionaries. But we spend most of church trying to keep "The Lil" from being too much of a disruption. Lily loves choir music. She loves Music and the Spoken Word. She will sit or stand with her back perfectly straight up and wave her arms to the music. She has this look on her face of pure joy and amazement. She will do the same thing at church when the congregation is very involved in singing the hymn. She will stop whatever she is doing. and Just pay perfect attention. It is adorable. She has also started crawling. I don't think that she realizes that she can get wherever she wants by crawling because she will crawl somewhere one time and then the next she will just lay on the floor and cry. She has also found out how to pull herself up in her crib. She is getting so big.


As a family were are doing great. We have started having Family Home Evenings with "The Lil" and I don't think she understands anything but I know that she will someday. This parent thing is a lot of work. Thank so much Mom and Dad for all you have done to teach us how to be good and faithful people. Please remember to keep us in your prayers.

A Busy Start

Christmas was awesome. We had a wonderful time with my family in Utah. There was a lot of snow that Kevin had a lot of fun playing in. I think he probably shoveled the driveway 8 times one of the days we were in Salt Lake. Two weeks in the snow is just a perfect amount. On Christmas Eve it is a Burraston family tradition to get new PJ pants. We then watched Claymation Christmas (an Isaacson family tradition). Then it was back to sunny California. We came home early because Jon and Julie planned a wonderful surprise visit so that the family could be all home together. We took family pictures and it was awesome. It was wonderful to have a whole month with Kevin home. He discovered some new talents such as feeding Lily, and putting her down for a nap. He is such a wonderful daddy. He did very well his first semester of law school. I think that he is surprised how much he actually enjoys it. On January 8th, 2009. She weighed 15 lbs, 13 oz. I can't believe how much she has grown. I think that Lily's favorite part of Christmas was eating the wrapping paper.

Lots of Firsts!

Well it has been a very interesting week with lots of firsts for all of us. Kevin finished his first semester of law school and lived to tell the tale. Kevin celebrated by doing yard work. This may sound crazy but Kevin loves diging in the dirt and trimming trees and bushes. He is very excited about the compost pile he started a couple of weeks ago. It makes him extreemly happy to go out there and mix it up. Yes he is a little wierd but absolutely adorable. I too had to survive Kevin's finals because he is such a good help and I missed him. I am very glad that I have him home for a whole month.



Lily had many firsts. She turned 5 months on the 13th and has started sitting unassisted (most of the time--she still has the occasional loss of balance). We have started feeding her rice cereal. She loves it although has had a little difficulty keeping it in her mouth. She is getting big so fast. We decided to try to give her a bath at night again. We gave her baths in the morning because previously when we tried at night she stayed up all night. She now finds it rather relaxing and has slept really well. On the 14th she had three firsts. She rolled over all by her self. I was so glad that Kevin was here to see that. She also started sucking on her toes. She also had her first fall. She rolled off the couch and onto the floor. She bumped her head. She is totally fine but I was really paranoid and felt like the worst mother in the whole world. She doesn't even have a bruise. I cried more than she did about it. It is amazing how much you hurt when you sweet little one is hurting. We called both of our moms right away to see if we needed to take Lily to the hosptial. They both sort of laughed at us asking the same questions. It sort of went like this:
Is crying now? no
Did she fall on carpet? yes
Is there a bump? no
Is she bleeding? no
Is she acting weird? no
I think she will be fine just watch her. I remember when (insert name)fell and bumped his head the first time. He was fine and Lily will be fine too. I know you feel like a terrible mother but she really is fine.



It really makes you feel better to her your mother tell you that you really haven't eternally damaged your child. Lily has been just fine ever since and I am "wiser for the wear." So thank you very much moms.

So I wanted to post a question to all of you bloggers. My baby has rolls in her armpits. I think it is kind of cute. Do you think it is weird?

We Are Back!

Happy Holidays everyone. We have sure been busy since we started this blog about a year ago. Kevin is attending law school at Santa Clara University in the Bay Area. He has been very stressed out but seems to be learning a lot and enjoying the things he is studying. We are getting ready to send out applications for summer internships. So pray for us okay!! Lily is now 41/2 months old. She has been learning many new sounds which include spitting, shreeking, fake coughing, and high pitch laughing. She also wants to stand up all the time (with our help) she can almost sit up without support. She can also pull herself up assisted with our two fingers. And as you can see she likes her tongue. Sometimes when you hold her over your shoulder she will lick your neck. If you hold her watch out!! We recently have been trying to figure out how to be parents. Sometimes we feel sucessful sometimes we feel like we fall short. But she is such a sweet little girl. We feel we have been blessed exceedingly. We have also been sick with a horrible cold this past week. It is very difficult to have a sick little one when you don't feel so great yourself. We are so thankful that Mark and Mary have been so great at having a baby in the house. Well I am pretty proud of myself for writing this much so hope to hear from you all soon.

Greetings from California

We are in California for the Christmas season! One of our first events was to go to the Sharks game. Kevin loves the sharks and Mary likes to see the games. Here's us at the game. It wasn't a very good game for the Sharks. The team played horribly and it was frustrating. But it was fun to be around so many fans.
